A hot water system replacement was necessary for this residence in Bargara, QLD, where the existing unit had reached the end of its lifespan. After a thorough inspection, it was clear that the hot water heater had cracked and was leaking. Given the condition, it was essential to replace the system to ensure the continued supply of hot water to the household.
Identifying the Need for a New Hot Water System
The homeowner contacted us for a replacement, and upon assessing the situation, we recommended a more suitable unit for the property. Initially, we considered a stainless steel hot water heater; however, due to the specific water quality conditions in Bundaberg, this was not deemed necessary.
Additionally, stainless steel units could only be supplied upon special order from the wholesaler. Based on these factors, we chose a more appropriate hot water system for the homeowner’s needs.
Comprehensive Installation Process
The installation involved not only the replacement of the hot water heater but also the installation of essential valves to ensure optimal performance and safety. The following valves were installed:
- Duo valve
- Pressure limiting valve
- Cold water expansion valve
- Tempering valve
- TPR (Temperature and Pressure Relief) valve
The new hot water system was successfully installed, with all associated valves replaced for maximum safety and efficiency. We submitted a Form 4 to the Queensland Building and Construction Commission (QBCC), as required by law.
